Batteries NOT included. I plugged register in, put in the language, date and time and then hit the No Sale button to verify the cash drawer opened. You can see the time 03:23 and the date 07/01/2024 on the cash register receipt. All I know for sure is they power up when plugged in as shown, I did NOT test these out with battery backup, tax tables, departments, prices etc. You should only purchase this item if you know how to fix it if necessary as I am NOT accepting returns on these items. These take 2 AA batteries (not included) for the backup. I haven't verified that the battery backup works. There's an emergency open switch underneath the machine to open the cash drawer in case the power goes out. To get started, plug the register in. The 0 button should be flashing. Hit 0 for English or 2 for Spanish then hit the CA/Amt Tend Key (Bottom Row Right), then 00-00-00 should be flashing, put in the current date, then 00:00 should be flashing and that's where you enter the time. Cash drawer is unlocked, but there is NO cash drawer key. There are some scrapes, scuffs, scratches and other signs of usage on the item. Overall registers are in GOOD condition. These have been sitting in a musty, dusty warehouse and need to be cleaned.
