Description: 1 gallon Trachycarpus fortunei grown from our own stock plants in our garden in Western North Carolina. They were sourced from palms that survived the 1980's freeze which killed many palms across the South East. Those original palms are still alive and well in Raleigh. Our oldest palms were planted in 2000 and we have never protected them despite reaching temperatures around 4f on several occasions. Trachycarpus fortunei can be grown in full sun or heavy shade and are quite adaptable to various conditions and soils. Trachycarpus do appreciate protection from the dry winter winds and we prefer to mix them into plantings rather than using them as solitary specimens whenever possible. We ship our plants well wrapped without the container, USPS Priority mail.
