And anyone who knows of my plans also knows it been a year or two in the making! A lot of expense finding specimens to study and making the plans themselves! But its finally here! My very own: Lewis Galoob Class Train Washing Station! I know my technology to make stuff is limited by my time and tiny budget. But I hope I did the old man proud. :.) I wish he was alive today to see this. Here’s to you maker of my childhood dreams! Dreamer of dreams. PLEASE NOTE! All trains and other track sold separately! This listing is for only the one wash station alone. Thank you! : ) But yes! It’s finally done! And this is NOT just some 3D printed cop out! It’s a well thought out 3d printed cop out! Hahaha! Just kidding! I bled for this. I saw it in my dreams. I spent well over 180 bucks just to acquire all the antique micro machines stuff I need to reference in person. I did this to study the work of Galoob carefully. Get the size and scale of their stuff right but not just that! I wanted to make it – just like before with the stoppers – in the same style as was done in the 80s and 90s! I wanted an authentic spiritual brother of the real thing! And I studied! Every design I could get my hands on. Every play set I could beg for a bargain in order to afford. I did it. I feel I replicated the simple yet elegant 80’s zany outrageous style that Galoob itself would have made if they made this wash station! I am happy with the way this came out! Details details details! So in the spirit of the 80s… You know? One of my favorite toys of all time and so many cherished childhood memories was the Hot Wheels Sto n go city car wash! In fact – if anyone out there wants to trade one for a grand micro machines railroad worth of track tell me! ;) But yes! I loved that play set! And some of the neatest stuff was the little form rollers in the car wash part! Bear in mind I could easily just make some nice rollers out of plastic. But at a surprisingly high cost I went out and bought real tiny foam hair rollers and hand cut them so I could have the same true to the 80s foam rollers on this wash station! As John Hammond would say – spared no expense! That was the only way I felt I could do this project just! And give an entirely new generation of kids the same joy and future precious memories I had! But EVEN BETTER! I went all out and not satisfied with just twin roller gates as I originally planned- I made it a TRIPLE roller gate! In all this makes this 10 hours of printing. Kinda highish labor. And adds significantly to the cost of the item for me and the buyer cutting heavily into profits and making the item itself as I said – costly! In fact one of the biggest items I make. So I’m not likely to sell a lot of these, But so be it! This is not some as I said cop out. This is a love letter to Galoob, my childhood, and the 80s. This was made by a true fan for true fans! I did the best I could. To do honor to micro machines trains. I proudly say – it is as it was. My friends – enjoy! As to the sheep specs… It’s all about make belief of course! The little foamies don’t really brush against the trains that much or at all say maybe a gentle touch. This is to avoid scratching up the precious few trains that are out there and deserve careful handling. So worry not about damage! This is a gentle station! I took a lot of time and care to make sure of that! Also please keep it dry if you can! While water proof I’d hate for the trains going through to rust on the bottom like my old ones! Again make belief fun for kids! Or joyous nostalgia for adults! Fun for all ages. : ) To operate: Simply push your train through slowly from above. Obviously leading from the locomotive. The rollers are fitted to give a tiny amount of resistance on fatter trains like the steam engines but not much. Height is just right to simulate washing even the tall double decker cars!
