It will be 1950-1960’s manufacture. No newly made foreign junk. These thermostats are the original style and temperature range This style offers a larger valve area than the current production style. The larger valve area offers better coolant flow though the radiator allowing better engine cooling. The current production style thermostats are better suited for higher pressure systems, typically 16 plus lbs. The older engines were designed to operate at 4 lbs and operate better with the early type thermostat designed for better engine coolant flow.
