1/35 Pz. Kpfw. IV Ausf.H Early/Mid “2 in 1” Border #BT-005 Factory Sealed MISB

Description: I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. In 2019, Border Models became a new player in the industry and has made a strong statement with their first armor releases. They chose the Panzerkampfwagen IV family as their first subject, which seems appropriate since the Wehrmacht sure had a lot of them. The Ausf.G was released in 2019 with other variants (F1, F2 and J) released in the same year. This kit is a “2 in 1” kit that can be built as the Early or Middle Production Ausf.H variant. There are plenty of listings for this kit on eBay (the large majority from Asia and Europe), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have it in stock and can reliably ship this kit to you very quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web: The bordermodel.com site has a very nice page for this kit that shows completed models of both the Early and Middle variants with colored parts to show the differences. The unpainted models show incredible detail, but the page doesn’t brag about the extensive features of the kit. Luckily, I have been able to find another source for a lengthy list of tremendous features packed into this outstanding kit. They provide a link to download the complete full-color 12-page instruction sheet and painting guide for the original Panzer G kit (BOR #BT-001) and many links to reviews, resources and a great photo gallery of a nicely finished model. Tat Baqui posted a Kit Announcement on the archive.armorama.com site that simply shows the box are, a page of the Painting Guide and some of the PE parts, along with a list of the kit features. There was also an early Preview on the themodellingnews.com site that focused on the history of this iconic German tank. There are six photos of wartime Panzer 4s, but only one photo from the kit (one set of PE Schürzen). There was not much info available on the kit at the time, but they did say: “The kit includes buckets!! Also Jerry cans & T-34 extra track links.” Thomas Hartwig published an informative In-Box Review on the German-language panzer-modell.de site with dozens of photos of the sprues, hull pieces, decals, PE parts, painting guide and that fantastic metal barrel. He goes through the many highlights of the kit and summarizes by saying: “A very successful model of this version H of the Panzer IV series – very good injection molding quality, very good equipment and option parts for it, as well as a metal tube and figures and the whole thing at a really good price. Recommended purchase!” HWoodModeling posted a very long (over 38 minutes) Unboxing Video on YouTube where you get a great look at every part that comes in the box. He narrates continuously, providing opinions and insights as he goes. He was most concerned about the lack of texture on the armor surfaces, saying it would require Mr. Surfacer to address before adding Zimmerit with the provided metal applicators. There was an outstanding Build Review on the how-amps.org site of the original Ausf.G version (BOR #BT-001) that contains a multi-page Border Models promotional description of the kit development and features. Then there are many photos of a completed, finished model, followed by a series of YouTube videos that show specific parts of the build. It is a sort of One Stop Shop for building this parent kit. This kit is in a large, sturdy box about 14” x 10” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed with tape strips, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with light grey plastic parts, detailed Link and Length tracks, metal gun barrel and smoke dischargers, photo etched parts and a small set of decals along with four crew and infantry figures.
