Description: This is an extra long, framed view of Nuremberg, Germany by Johann Seibmacher (1561-1611) after a drawing by Hans Sebald Lautensack (1524-1560s). Frame is 64" by 15 1/2" and too long for me to ship framed. Thusly it must be picked up in person (I am always around to be available for pickups) unless taken out of frame. The first edition was published in 1595 and then a second edition in 1652. I cannot tell what edition this is but know it was done from the original copper plate prior to the 20th century because it, at one time, had an old back label from a dealer in Germany that closed in the late 19th century. Rare in any state. Depicting the city in profile in the mid 16th century. Hand colored some time ago and cut into three segments and mounted on old 1/8" backing board a long time ago. Printed on thicker woven paper. I cannot ship it as it is but can remove it from the frame and ship the three 21" by 14.5" segments in a box or in cardboard layers. But you would then have to have it reframed on your end unless you want to keep it as it is on the backing boards. The only copy of this print for sale on line at this time and I doubt not in the near future due to it's rarity. If picking it up I will of course refund any shipping charges from ebay. A type of birds eye view in the style of Braun & Hogenberg and the Civitates Orbis Terrarum but three times longer. For some reason ebay will not allow me to select First Class Package International? only Priority!
