Description: Custom built model of a WW2 Brewster Buffalo fighter plane. Designed for the U.S. Navy, the Buffalo was also exported to several other world airforces. This model depicts an Australian Buffalo in early WW2. The Buffalo was actually a good performing aircraft in its original configuration, but early experiences in the fast moving pre-war fighter era meant that much additional equipment was added to production aircraft. Self sealing fuel tanks, armor plating, upgrades in armament, all combined to add excessive weight which doomed the design with inferior performance. "They fought with what they had" as the saying goes, and the Brewster fought on many fronts in early WW2 almost always as a severe underdog. Still is is a significant aircraft of the period. This is a scale model collectors item to be handled and unpacked with care, not a childs toy to be played with! Has small and sharp parts that could break off if mishandled. Buyer should expect the possibility of small parts coming detached in shipment but model is well built and will be carefully packed (check my feedback) and damage is quite unlikely.
