DATE PRINTED: 1792, dated on the print. SIZE: The printed area including titles is approximately 20 x 12.5 cm (8 x 5 inches) plus margins with a blank back (small). ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER: Unknown. PROVENANCE: Published in The Gentleman's Magazine, September 1792. The Gentleman's Magazine was founded in London, England, by Edward Cave in January 1731. It ran uninterrupted for almost 200 years, until 1922. It was the first to use the term magazine (from the French magazine, meaning "storehouse") for a periodical.
