Description: A superb pair of English Georgian 9" imari "Turner's Patent" Ironstone circular dessert plates. Hand painted in a beautiful imari color palette featuring a large waterlily and exquisite gilt detailing. John Turner was one of the first to produce a stone china type body ( the forerunner of ironstone china). His pieces normally bear the TURNERS PATENT mark in iron-red. Dating from 1800-1805. Around 1805, the patent rights were sold to Spode, who perfected it and renamed it Stone China. The plates are without damage. They both show light scratches and gilt wear. Please see the photos. Stands are not included. FREE SHIPPING !!!!!
