Description: 1825 Classic Head Half Cent, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as Very Fine, VF-25. This is a good-quality specimen with details in the features and a strong, about 15 degrees, of counter-clockwise reverse die rotation, typical for the year. This mintage has been known to have an edge bump in various locations as the die rotated around, but we did not find one on this coin. 1825 is the year of resumption of Classic Liberty half cent mintage since before the War of 1812, as stocks in circulation must have started ebbing. This year had a small 63,000 mintage, and all half cents are scarce, but this one is a bit more so, and one of very few encapsulated and graded at this grade. This coin is a representative Early American Era coin. And the half cent is and looks the part in every respect. This is a not-excessively circulated, detailed coin. This is a representative coin of the era and a worthy addition to a collection that needs a detailed, encapsulated half cent with the interesting die rotation.
