Hand painted in water color paints. I love the old Folk Art look to this primitive photo. Not only is the girl painted but the background is too.Has an original framers label of A.J. Pell 345 Notre Dame St., Montreal. There is writing stating the girl is Edith Sanders 4 year old who later became Mrs. H.G. Glasspool. The Salt print is in a period probably original frame. Frame is as-is. Antique. Over 150 years old. Have not had this out of frame. Salt print in good condition with light overall toning. Period possibly original frame as is with wavy glass, original backboard with framers label., Fame is rough with gesso losses and gold touch ups. Hard to find fully painted portrait and background. Displays beautifully and has a great Folk Art look. Hard to find with artist card on back.Nice size with frame measuring 13 1/4" by 11 1/4" at extremes. Salt print measures 8" x 10".
