Albert Racinet, an illustrator by trade, gave a unique style to his illustrations by using mainly chromolithography. This unique style is in fact a precursor to the illustrations of the encyclopedias of the following century.Dimensions: 19 x 22 cmsOverall this lithograph is in good condition, however due to its age, its history and the hands that consulted it, small defects are possible. These defects are usually concentrated at the periphery of the paper sheet. Please look carefully at the pictures as you buy what you see. We always ship our engravings or lithographs in suitable and protected packaging. The Mughal Empire (or "Mugol"; in Persian: شاهان مغول, Šâhân-e Moġul; in Urdu: مغلیہ سلطنت, Muġliyah Salṭanat) was founded in India by Babur, the descendant of Tamerlane, in 1526, when he defeated Ibrahim Lodi, the last Sultan of Delhi at the Battle of Panipat. The name "Mughal" is derived from the name of the Timurids' home region, the Central Asian steppes once conquered by Genghis Khan and later known as "Moghulistan": "land of the Mongols". Although the early Mughals spoke the Chaghatai language and retained Turco-Mongol customs, they had been essentially "Persianized." They thus introduced Persian literature and culture to India, laying the foundations of an Indo-Persian culture.Professional in the sale (and passion) of historical and geographical engravings, I will ship your purchase with the greatest care as I myself would like to receive it.
