Description: Nice original 1898 2 volume set of Joyce's "The Origin and History of Irish Names of Places." The set is complete in 2 volumes as issued in this edition; a third volume was later printed sometime after 1900. The books are overall in very good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. The covers have some minor wear. The bindings are good and sound. There is a penciled inscription to the front feps. The interiors are lightly toned from age with just some occasional light foxing & grubbiness. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a creased page corner, tiny chip or tear, minor interior crack, minor stain or marking, etc. Generally though, it's a nice set. The books measure approximately 7 3/8 inches by 5 inches. Volume 1 is 589 pages long and Volume 2 is 538. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
