1909 DICKY DELIGHTFUL IN RAINBOW LAND by James Ball Naylor - Vintage Children's

Description: James Ball Naylor (1860-1945) was a well-known author at the turn of the 20th century. He wrote poetry, novels, short stories, and children's books inspired by his own children. DICKY DELIGHTFUL IN RAINBOW LAND is the story of a young man who falls asleep after looking through a stack of his favorite old nursery books, such as Cinderella, Mother Goose, Goody Two Shoes, Jack the Giant-Killer, and more. After a thunderstorm, he finds himself transported to Rainbow Land (the area at the end of the rainbow) where he encounters many of his old favorite characters, known as the 'Immortals of Childhood Days.' A fun read for the young adults who know the old nursery characters or for any adult who would enjoy a visit to childhood days. Fair condition. Board covers are worn and chipped. The front and back hinges are separating and the covers are loose. Pages of text are toned, with damp staining on a few of the end pages.
