Description: Charles “Chief” Bender is a Hall of Fame pitcher who spent most of his career with the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1911, Bender tied a record by pitching three complete games in a single World Series. He finished his career with a 212–127 win–loss record for a .625 winning percentage and a career 2.46 earned run average. This card is one of four baseball players found in a larger set featuring a total of 21 other "Champions." The card measures approximately 2 5/16" by 3 3/8". The unnumbered set was produced in 1912.
