Description: Up for your consideration is a stunning vintage drawing of the Matterhorn in Zermatt. This belonged to my Grandfather. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. It was given to him by his cousin Mary who completed the work. It looks like it’s dated 96 but it is in fact dated 26 (1926). My Aunt had a funny way of writing her two’s. This piece has been displayed in my fishing cottage for many years. It’s in a rather cheap contemporary frame to protect it. The original frame was broken in shipment when my fishing cottage was sold a few years back. This stunning artwork depicts a Swiss chalet at the foot of the Matterhorn, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and mountains. The artist captured the beauty of Zermatt, Switzerland in this original and unique drawing, which was produced in 1926 during the Art Deco period.
