Wells facing the inner cover page (see pics)Volume one also has the complete "Scheme of Contents" and The "List of Maps and Illustrations"Volume 3 has damage to the back cover.....(see the pics)....some sections are torn away, etc.Inner pages are NOT damaged...just the back cover and top portion at the spine (see pics)No writing in any of the volumes, no rips, no tears, no folds or creases to the inner pages The pictures do a much better job of describing this item than I ever could, please check them out!
