Description: This is an original antique 1922 program for the Ziegfeld Follies starring W.C. Fields and Fanny Brice among others at Chicago’s historical Colonial Theatre. This program is a four page pamphlet format measuring about 8.75” x 5” per page. The original owner wrote “Jan. 1, 1922” in the upper margin on the front cover so thus the date for this program which isn’t otherwise dated. Both Wm. C. Fields and Fanny Brice are listed as characters appearing in some of the comedy skits and Vera Michelena is listed as Master of Ceremonies. The Colonial Theatre in Chicago opened as the Iroquois Theatre in November 1903 and was the site of the infamous Iroquois Theatre fire a couple weeks later, one of the most consequential fires in American history in which more than 600 people died. The theatre was rebuilt and later operated as the Colonial Theatre until it was razed in 1924. The front cover of this program has a "Fire Notice" advising patrons what to do in the event of a fire. This original antique program is fully complete and intact with moderate handling wear, folds and some toning from age. The program has as a short tear of about an inch on the right edge of the front cover but nothing torn off or missing. Overall condition is very good. Email any questions. Thanks for looking.
