The radio is tested and working, and it includes a complete set of good emissions brass base tipped tubes -- a 1-amp UV-200 detector tube and four 1/4-amp 01A amplifier tubes. Known also as the 4066, the Model 7 was one of three inductively tuned Atwater Kent breadboards with RF amplification ahead of the detector. The other two were the Model 5 (4333) and the Model 6 (4052). Aesthetically speaking, the three radios were without peer -- a pitch perfect balance of metal, bakelite and wood. Brought to market in March 1923, they were discontinued in the fall of the same year, when Atwater Kent introduced what would become its best-selling breadboard, the Model 10.This Model 7 is factory built and factory-wired, with its original board finish still intact. Some light crazing, but nothing excessive or distracting. All of the chocolate brown bakelite is in excellent condition, with no chips, no cracks, no issues. The engraved numbers and hash marks on the Type 11 tuner's dial are crisp and clear. The wire on the tuner is still tightly wound, and there are no stains anywhere. The paint on the TA island is original and in good condition, with scattered marks and areas of wear consistent with age and authenticity. The paint on the RF transformers is likewise original, with scattered marks and areas of wear. Both RF transformers are still good (all windings). The potting tar and components inside the TA are original and undisturbed, and both AF transformers are still good, as are both RF transformers. Wiring and staples on the underside of the board are original and correct. All four feet are original as well. There's a fine hairline in the lower right quadrant of the potentiometer's housing, but it's literally as a fine as a hair and not noticeable unless you go looking for it. All five tubes have been tested in the radio (they're the tubes you see in the video I've posted with the photographs). As note above, the radio still works. If you wish to use it, you'll need an appropriate DC power supply (I'd recommend an ARBEIII), a vintage horn loudspeaker, a longwire outdoor antenna (at least 100 feet long and 15 feet above the ground), and of courses a basic understanding of how to operate and tune a 1920's battery radio. I'm one of ebay's best known, most highly regarded sellers of antique radios, and I specialize in radios from the 1920's, with a focus on Atwater Kent breadboards. I've been selling and shipping them for more than 25 years. When you purchase a breadboard from me, you'll receive a radio that arrives safely because it's been carefully packed (by me, not by some well-intentioned but nonetheless confounded, doe-eyed teenager working at the UPS store who wouldn't know a phonograph from a farm tool), Sure, you can probably get a lower price from Joe and Janet Barn-Find, but when your "bargain" arrives broken, and without any hint of how you might be able to put it back together, you'll realize that you really do get exactly what you pay for.
