Description: This listing is for an amazing little teapot. It is Banko Ware. It was made in Japan during the 1930's. It is a gray clay in the shape if lotus leaves with a frog coming through the lid. It has enamel and gold accents. The crabs are painted . It measures 6 3/4" long, 4 1/2" wide and stands 2 1/2" high. There is one almost identical in the Art Gallery Of Greater Victoria Museum. (google "teapot in the shape of lotus leaves frog and crabs" and it will bring up a photo of their teapot and a link to their site). It is very delicate and has only one old nick to the ruffled rim(see last photo). It needs a cleaning.Look at the photos to determine the condition.
