Description: 1932 Vintage Press Photo by ACME.One of the oldest brewing schools in the Midwest, the classes held by the Wahl Henius Institute of Chicago, was closed in 1915 with the advent of state and eventually national prohibition, but so many applications have been received this summer that it was decided to resume and 25 brewery owners and managers, and 18 younger men who wish to be brew-masters when the Volstead Act is modified or repealed, have signed up for the course.Dr. Max Henius, holding the flask, is shown with some of the pupils as the school re-opened. Max Henius was a Danish-American biochemist who specialized in the fermentation processes. Max Henius co-founded the American Academy of Brewing in Chicago Photo is Dated: October 17, 1932.
