Description: This is a rare envelope from the Worch Cigar Co. of St. Paul Minnesota which in 1933 issued a 167 card set of major league and American Associations baseball players (3 5/8 X 6.5). The player pictures were pulled directly from the Minneapolis and St. Paul Dispatch newspapers and mailed in these envelopes bearing the Worch Cigar Co. name. The set included the rare cards of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Melvin Ott, James Foxx and many others. From the notation made by a collector on this envelope it appears to have housed the Worch Cigar Co. card of outfielder Art Ruble who professionally played with the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies. Stamp has since been removed. Light return / sender address stamp reads Worch Cigar Co., St. Paul, Minn.. Good condition. A great artifact from the issuer of this very rare baseball card issue. This is only the second envelope that I have seen in reference to their baseball card issue.
