Description: This is a somewhat rare, beautiful, iconic , vintage Elna free arm sewing machine dubbed the Grasshopper for its very green color, and comes housed in an ingenious metal case that turns into a large sewing table area. These pioneers of the free arm sewing machine were made from 1940 to about 1952. This machine was superbly crafted in Switzerland and was the first free arm sewing machine. It is also a full rotary hook machine and uses drop in model 15 bobbins and standard 15x1 needleswhich are freely available. The Swiss really knew how to make sewing machines. This Elna has many innovative features and runs and sews top tier. It really is one for the collection. Truly looks amazing and we fully tested it and it sews perfect stitches as seen in my photos. All functions are operating exactly how they should, light flicks on, bobbin winder works great and tension was perfect. Original spool pin. The case is a marvel, all metal has two buttons to open it and then transforms into a great sewing table and the Elna fits right into its slot. Condition is excellent, green paint looks awesome with just some light pre use showing. Machine runs fantastically with a nice smooth hum. Knee bar controls speed perfectly. Light works , missing cover. Comes in the case with the knee bar to control speed, original power cord with excellent wiring ,4 bobbins which are drop in model 15 bobbins and freely available. Super clean Elna and sure to be a great addition to any collection! We are dedicated to customer service. Thankyou for looking!
