1940s-1950s RARE SALESMAN'S SAMPLE PRINCESS PEGGY DOLL DRESS (16 1/4 in L) Green

Description: Farmhouse Favorites has acquired several of these UNTAGGED Princess Peggy Salesmen Sample DRESSES. What an incredibly RARE FIND and we are still in awe and shock at this acquisition! Princess Peggy brand was a line of house dresses produced from 1929 to the 1950s by Chic Manufacturing Co. of Peoria, Illinois. Salesmen carried perfectly replicated miniature sample dresses to women's houses so the lady of the house could examine and choose dresses to purchase. There was a Princess Peggy mannequin manikin produced in different sizes, the larger mannequin could be used to display the sample dresses either by the salesman or in a retail store. These were also available for purchase. Today, these rare salesman sample dresses are very collectible. This salesman sample is NOT TAGGED. The tag may have been removed by a child, or by a salesman after the sample was discontinued or decommissioned before giving it to a child to play with...or maybe the tag never made it into the dress! We have found exact dresses online that match some of the ones we have, but others we have not found any identical dresses for documentation so we cannot 100% document that these are Princess Peggy salesman samples. However, the buttons used on some of these dresses are identical to actual human Princess Peggy dresses and other salesmen samples found online. We will be listing more over the next few weeks. These dresses are hard to come by and are absolutely amazing in their perfect construction and miniaturization of human sized dresses. They are a bit larger than the Madame Alexander 20-21 inch tall Cissy doll, but with some tweaking they would fit well. Our Cissy doll IS NOT FOR SALE and is only modeling the dresses. Please do not begrudge her pink shoes as she did not know she would be modeling today! lol. These may fit a larger, slim bodied doll such as a Little Lady or Debuteen, or Deluxe Reading Candy doll as well. If you are purchasing as a doll dress, please measure your doll and compare to the provided measurements. What does FLAT MEASURED mean? We measure the garment laying flat so we are only measuring the front width. For the entire measurement of the garment around the waist, around the bodice, etc, double the measurement listed. Measure around your doll with a flexible tape measure for the best results. For example, a 4 inch flat measured waist is approximately 8 inches around the entire garment, so a doll of no bigger than an 8 inch waist could wear that item. All props, furniture, backgrounds, doll modeling item for auction unless specified as part of the auction/or the auction item, mannequins, doll stands, etc are NOT for sale. SHIPPING Q & A We ship calculated USPS shipping. USPS rules state if the mailer is over 1/4 of an inch thick it is considered a package. Package dimensions, package weight, and the zone of the shipping destination are all figured into the postage pricing system. The USPS base package price starts at $5.00 (1-4 oz). We have a $2 handling fee per lot. We combine shipping on orders. Combined shipping involves repacking your items into a single mailer, weighing and measuring the package, entering the shipping info into the Ebay calculated shipping system (integrated with the USPS system), and then adding our $2 handling fee per lot onto the shipping total (So, if you order 2 lots, handling is $4, etc). Your savings comes from the reduction in the weight of the package due to shipping 1 mailer opposed to X mailers.
