Description: I am listing some vintage hats and clothing. This is a beautiful light green cart wheel hat or cartwheel hat. The hat is decorated with a gather of fluffy light green netting and a grosgrain ribbon with flower. The hat is a size 22. The flower could use a bit of fluffing, but the hat is in otherwise excellent condition. The inner hat band has the G. Fox and Co. label sewn to it. The box that contains this frothy cartwheel hat is a beautiful piece in its own right. It is a huge hat box with a 17" diameter and a height of 7". The box has a blue twisted satin like carrying cord. The cover has a little water staining, as pictured. There is a 3 1/2" clear tape repair at the bottom of the box. When photographing I noticed a clear tape repair to the top of the box as well. The look of this vintage G. Fox & Co. hat box is that of an antique wallpaper band box from the 1840's. Perhaps this vintage hat box was made as a centennial piece since G. Fox & Co. was serving Connecticut since 1847.
