Old Hollywood Elegance. In good to very good preowned (1940s/1950s) vintage condition. Dimensions: 3 7/8" x 3" x 3/4"Snake chain handle in very good condition. Item is 2-sided. Top buttons control which side will be opened. One side can be used to store small items (cash, a house key, etc), originally probably used to store cigarettes. The other side has a mirror, a comb, a receptacle in which a lipstick tube could be placed and a face powder compartment (the latch on the right clicks to open/close). Does not appear to have been used very often. Exterior has a shiny gold tone basket-weave design. Minor loss of plating noted in a few places (see photographs)Mirror is intact (no cracks or obvious discoloration). Comb slips in and out of it's assigned holder. High-end design and quality, although appears to be unmarked (no brand name or logo) Inside design: mirror-side: shiny gold tone with brushed gold tone in a circular pattern. 2nd compartment: one side brushed gold tone circular pattern, other side circular pattern 'imprinted' on to the reverse of the exterior shiny basket-weave pattern.
