Odd EKC stamp box that Playle's only guess for date is 1944 W M Cline was a now legendary photographer out of Chattanooga Tennessee who specialized in real photo postcards of the Southeastern U S but especially the mountain regions of North Carolina and of Central & East Tennessee. Someone is (was?) working on a book about him and his great work in documenting these areas ;-} Mine is the only one with this view (wherein the mill's water wheel takes "center stage") that I could find on ebay as of 16 January 2024 standard size postcard About W. M. Cline Jr. and his postcard company: W. M. Cline, Co. was established in 1938 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The company was founded by Walter Matson Cline, Jr. (1914-1984) who had learned photographer from his father, Walter M. Cline, Sr. (1873-1941). The elder Cline came to Chattanooga in 1904 and, in 1910, established Cline Studios, producing commercial photographs for newspapers and advertisement. Cline is estimated to have taken more than 75,000 pictures and provided the Community Advertising Association with 3,000 images used to promote Chattanooga. It was W.M. Cline, Jr. who established the company that produced these postcards, many using images made by father and son. After running a black and white operation for several decades, in 1958, Cline opened a color plant that could print 6,000 postcards per hour from more than 30,000 stock negatives. postally unused and in Fine condition (but I only have ONE of these) . . . . Remember that the Abraham Lincoln Penny is not attached to the item. It is put on the scanner bed merely to protect the uniqueness or near uniqueness of an image so that the high bidder gets an item that has not been copied via someone's computer. The penny DOES NOT hide any faults or any damage! __________________________________________________ (the fine print ... [sigh] ... but please read :-) WE REGRET WE DON'T SHIP OUT OF USA; SORRY, BUT NO EXCEPTIONS. FREE SHIPPING via a stiffer piece of card stock + plastic sleeve protected 1st class mail, STANDARD RATE. Regardless of what ebay may say on their "Shipping Page" - while STANDARD MAIL is perfectly safe for smaller & less expensive items - it is NOT the same grade of service as a "First Class Mail Parcel." Buyer MAY opt in (at a small-ish extra charge) for upgraded 1st class mail package rate (with TRACKING #) at checkout if they choose to do so. I ship twice a week so turnover time or handling time is 3 business days (Mon-Fri) max - often less than that. PAYPAL IS THE MUCH PREFERRED METHOD OF PAYMENT. Thanks! Please pay within 4 days. Delayed? Then email me - I'll try to work with you when necessary but it helps a lot when I have contact with you. If your payment is delayed, ebay is liable to send a dun or two. PLEASE NOTE THAT THOSE ARE COMING AUTOMATICALLY FROM EBAY AND NOT FROM ME. I typically send out just one reminder. PLACING A BID IS THE ETHICAL EQUIVALENT OF ACCEPTING THESE TERMS. PLEASE DON'T ASK TO ALTER THEM AFTERWARDS. In return, as our feedback clearly shows, we'll get your item(s) to you, as described, in a safe, timely manner. Thanks!
