Description: This week I'm offering a number of old non-sport cards from various vintage sets. In 1949, Quaker Oats issued a set of 35 cards (designated F279-5 in the hobby catalogues) featuring beautiful color photos of various breeds of dogs. The cards are 2 1/4 x 3 1/2, with rounded corners, and the card backs have a brief write-up about each breed. The set was titled "Challenge of the Yukon" Dogs, after a popular radio and early TV show about the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The hero's sidekick in that series was a Siberian Husky called "Yukon King," who also appears in this set. The cards remain very popular weith collectors. This card depicts the Cocker Spaniel. It's in very nice shape with no creases, stains or surface wear, but some slight discoloration on the back (see scans for condition), pretty good for a card that's over sixty years old. This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Payment is via PayPal; shipping is $4.00 for First Class Mail, and postage will be combined for multiple winnings.
