The mural at the Student Lounge of New York University was the center of a student body protest after some one claimed the mural was Communist propaganda. The mural's two central figures represent the world's people reaching for each other through the United Nations (seated around the table, center, partly blocked by the post). The students' rhubarb concerns the figures on the left, presumably Russian being cherub and agreeable while those on the right, Americans, are sourpusses suffering from vitamin deficiency.
