I >--> Condition: Very Good Plus - Fine Blade Length: 8" TEXT GOES HERETEXT GOES HERE --> Offered here is a 1958 Lee-Enfield No. 4 bolt action rifle No. 9 Mk. I Pakistan Ordnance Factory bayonet & scabbard. The British wanted to get rid of their spike bayonet after WWII. They went through a few variations. In 1947 they started producing these bayonets. Other versions of this bayonet were produced in Pakistan and South Africa. This one was made in Pakistan from 1953-1966. They manufactured approximately 35,000. Overall, this bayonet is in Very Good Plus - Fine condition. The press catch is functional with average spring tension. The socket, elbow and blade are all securely attached. The socket and elbow have light finish loss along the leading edges. The spine, sides and fullers have light handling marks and scuffs, but no notable wear. The blade has no nicks or dings and it appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. The blade has its original finish. The left side socket is marked "NO9MK1 / P.O.F. 58". The right side is marked with a broad arrow. The press catch is marked with a broad arrow. The metal scabbard is in Good - Very Good condition. There are handling marks, scrapes and scattered oxidation. The frog stud is securely attached with some light oxidation. The scabbard is in the white and has lost its original finish. There are markings on the frog stud, but they are too hard to read. This bayonet and scabbard will be a great addition to your Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifle, or a bayonet collection in general.
