Description: 1960 Egypt Aluminum-Bronze Gold Colored One Millieme Coin Depicting United Arab Republic Eagle For your Egyptian Coin Collection-EGC819 Details Description: A beautiful uncirculated 1960 (1380 AH) Egyptian one millieme or one tenth of a piastre gold colored coin. This small diameter coin of very low denomination is made of Aluminum-bronze and looks great. The obverse of the coin depicts a standing eagle with a shield on its chest. The shield displays the tri-colored flag of the United Arab Republic which was red, white, and black with two green stars in the center. The stars stood for Egypt and Syria. The coin was struck during the time when Egypt and Syria formed the so-called United Arab Republic. The coin is lustrous with beautiful clear fields. The coin is labeled (al-Gomhouryah al-Arabyah al-Mutahida) United Arab Republic and has the date as well as denomination on the reverse. It is KM-393 and weighs ~1.7 grams and measures approximately 16 mm in diameter and has a plain edge. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: 1960 AD - 1380 AH. Mint: Egypt. Size and weight: This is a one millieme or 1/10th piastre, weighs ~1.7 grams and is ~16 mm in diameter. References: It is KM #393. Condition: I would grade this coin as lustrous uncirculated with beautiful clear fields. The coin has some scratches and minor bag marks but no observable wear commensurate with its uncirculated state. it is problem free and is just beautiful with great eye appeal. The coin is much better than the photos suggest. Coin of such low denomination are difficult to find in such high grade given that they were excessively used and abused or lost.
