Description: Note: Please study the images carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may interpret colors and contrast differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person. This vintage photograph is offered for sale as a collectible item and conveys no transfer of copyright. 1963 Press Photo Aerial view of NASA's Mississippi Test Facility harbor area. This is an original press photo. Six months after the first tree was felled for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Mississippi Test Operations facility near Pearlington, considerable progress has been made at the 13,550-acre site, as shown in the aerial view of the harbor area. Clearing began in mid-May, where the dredging is now more than 90 percent complete. Contractors have dredged more than one million cubic yards of earth to make the 35-acre harbor more than 13 feet deep. Photo measures 10 x 8.5 inches. Photo is dated 11-21-1963.
