Description: 1971 Press Photo Furniture, A Highboy from Yale University Art Gallery is a fake This is an original press photo. Furniture Highboy, 1900-1925, from Yale University Art Gallery, The Mabel Brady Garvan Collection. This is an early fake of an almost unique form. Rarely were highboys made without drawers in the lower section, so that this piece appealed to collectors as an exciting discovery. The parts, however, are totally new, the surface being disguised by "early " red paint. "Early" painted surfaces can be created with some degree of accuracy; fakers of country furniture specialize in crackled, worn and "properly aged" exteriors. Sometimes the paint has glue added; when it dries, it creates '"early" crackle, and undissolved powdered milk adds the "proper" texture! Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 05-23-1971. Part Number: nob14630 Please look at the images below carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may see a photograph differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person. This vintage photograph is offered for sale as a collectible item and conveys no transfer of copyright. PHOTO FRONT PHOTO BACK Sell Smarter with Kyozou.Inventory and Ecommerce Management
