Description: Large-format fold-out indexed street plan of Kansas City, published as a salesman's sample by Rand McNally more than 50 years ago. This map opens to 18" x 29" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments. The covers are blank, except for a small logo imprint on the front for Farmland Industries of Kansas City, Missouri, promoting its Co-Op brand. The northern part of Kansas City is on one side, including the Missouri River, and parts of Gladstone, Riverside, and Independence, with an inset of the downtown area. The southern portion of Kansas City is on the other side, including Overland Park, Mission Hills, Hickman Hills, and Raytown. The map is copyrighted © 1973 in the legend by Rand McNally, and the code number in the lower margin is 736057. Condition: It is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. Co-Op gas station maps of individual cities are tough to find, and this one, with covers that are virtually blank is definitely not only a bit of a puzzle but also something that we've never come across before, in more than 30 years of collecting and selling old road maps. It's not an example of a printing error, which is something that does turn up once in a while, because it does have Farmland Industries' Co-Op logo on the front, with the number code 97-3099.
