King, a 600-pound African lion, seems friendlier Saturday toward neighbor William Garza, 25, 1722 Eubanks, an air conditioning repairman. Friday night the two-year-old cat mauled Garza as he tried to rescue him during afire at the home of King's owners, Bobby and Linda Huggins, 1813 Eubanks. Arson Investigator R. A. Shoquist said the fire, which almost totally destroyed the Huggins home, appeared to be arson. he said the home was also slightly damaged by a Molotov cocktail August 12. "Maybe somebody out there doesn't like lions," he said. Neighbors say the Huggins family raised King from a cub, keeping him chained in their open back yard.
