No statement of edition or printing, making this a first edition. It wasn't until sometime in the 1980s (later than 1981) that St. Martin's Press started putting first edition statements and printing status bars on the copyright pages. Before then, first printings had no markings and they added printing statements to later printings. Signed and dated '7MY83' by the author on the title page without inscription or personalization. Dust Jacket - very good, minor edgewear, slight damage and wrinkling at top and bottom of spine and top and bottom of the flap folds, moderate rubbing, dust jacket is not centered properly - the spine lettering is to too close to the rear spine edge, not price clipped, in dust jacket protector. Shipping History: We have shipped well over 6,000 packages (containing more than 10,000 items), with more than 1000 of those packages going to international destinations, since we started selling in 2002. We have not had a report of a book damaged in transit since shortly after we started selling (it took us a couple of damaged shipments to learn how to package books properly to be sure they wouldn't get damaged). In the first years, our exprience was that the post office would lose a package about every one to two years. Then the post office put better tracking measures in place and it has been well over 10 years since a customer has reported a lost shipment (packages do still occasionally get sorted incorrectly, delaying delivery but that is fairly rare). Sales Tax Beginning January 1, 2019, eBay will start collecting sales tax on items being purchased for shipment to states that have passed legislation requiring that sales tax be collected on items being sold for shipment to their state. This is being done by eBay, I have no control over it. At the present time, I will still be responsible for collecting California Sales tax on items shipped to a California address.
