Description: This vintage two (2) yards of 54” fabric from Mill Creek Fabrics is the rare and hard-to-find Le Coq Rooster Italian script fabric! This beautiful heavyweight golden fabric is woven with roosters (Le Coq) in colors of black/gray/red into the fabric (they look embroidered) and then, you have this Italian poem in woven gold script writing running throughout the body of the fabric. So lush and elegant! The gold woven Italian script is from a poem called "L'infinito" by Giacamo Leopardi. Written in the autumn of 1819, the poem is a product of Leopardi's yearning to travel beyond his restrictive home town of Recanati and experience more of the world which he had studied, but was unable to, due to his ill health. It is widely known throughout Italy. With a width of 54” (after selvage is removed) and a length of 2 yards, this fabric is ideal for a variety of crafting projects. The fabric is made of a heavyweight cotton/polyester blend fabric. This is a vintage and “out of stock” piece of continuous fabric, making it a unique find for any crafter or collector.
