Description: GIFT WORTHY In November of 2000 I went to Russia with the Patch Adams "Healing thru Humor" clown group to visit hospitals, nursing homes and orphanages. And, of course, we visited lots of great restaurants, museums, shops, etc., etc., etc. I will be listing on ebay several various kinds of Russian items that I brought back including dolls (cloth and stacking), hats, eggs, stamps, hand painted items, and more. The last two photos show my I.D. badge (like a clown in a clown group would need an I.D.!) and a quilted fabric panel of the planet that I labeled "Global Warming Blanket" and had all the clowns and Russian people sign. Just wanted to share those photos. This 10 inch tall cloth doll was purchased in St.Petersburg at a market. It is hand made and hand painted. The head, chest, lower arms, lower legs and feet are very firm, especially the head which feels like the fabric was stretched over a stiff ball of some kind. The upper arms and legs are flexible so that he can sit and move his arms. The cotton costume has various prints and added braiding. Fingers on hands are stitched. Boots are laced with thread. Hair is thread. Love his little black cotton hat with flower and his bedroom eyes. Nice work on the face with the appliqued ball nose (would look better in red!) and features. There's a string on the back in case someone wants to hang him up. He's been packed away since he has moved to Iowa.
