Description: For sale is a 2008 Apple Mac Pro 3,1 with TONS of upgrades. I used this computer for editing and graphics for many years. As such, I upgraded it many times over the years. I no longer edit, so it was mostly used as an office workstation for the last few years, until it ended up in storage a few months ago. Sad to see it go. Here are the details: 2008 Apple Mac Pro 3.0Ghz 8-Core Intel Xeon (2x Quad Core)with original tower, motherboard, and Super Drive DVD-ROM drivecurrently loaded with MacOS - El Capitan. UPGRADED:- 16GB 800MHz DDR2 RAM memory (spread over 4 slots, you still have 4 slots available) - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 graphics card CUDA-enabled with 1024MB of VRAM (this has two DVI monitor ports, plus an HDMI port) - OWC Mercury Accelsior S with Samsung EVO SSD 500GB. (This uses the PCIe slot instead of the normal SATA slot to run the drive making it much faster - 500MB/s. This is currently set up as the main hard drive.)- 3x extra hard drives (one slot still available) 2x 500GB Samsung EVO SSD and 1x 1TB Western Digital HDD. (That's a total of 2.5TB on this computer) - 2x USB 3.0 and 2x eSATA ports via Sonnet Technologies expansion card with 6GB/s throughput- Black Magic DeckLink Studio 2 video input/output card. (This has SDI in/out, and if you buy the cable for it, a host of other video and audio in/out options. It also has an HDMI in/out. The HDMI cables are currently uninstalled due to lack of room on the back of the tower.)- LG BluRay/DVD reader/writer (this is in addition to the original Super Drive) I used to run the FinalCutPro Suite on this machine. Then switched to Adobe CS6 for several years (mostly Premier and After Effects which worked great with CUDA). Then started using DaVinci Resolve. All worked great, especially for a machine of this age. I don't do post-production really anymore, so I switched over to a laptop to save space. Time to let this thing go. All the drives are cleared and a clean install of MacOS 10.11 - El Capitan has been done (updated to 10.11.6). It's been put back into setup mode, so you can set up as new. The drivers and software for the DeckLink Studio have been reinstalled as have the Drivers for the GeForce graphics card including the CUDA drivers. Included are: Apple Mac Pro (with described upgrades) Power cableApple standard USB keyboardLogitec M100 3-button USB optical mouse w/scroll wheelHDMI in/out extension ports for the DeckLink Studio 2 (This doesn't fit with the current setup. No more rear slots available. I always planned to do a simple retrofit to fit the ports, but never got around to it.) A computer monitor is NOT included in this listing. The monitor in the photos is for demo purposes only. (The Apple Cinema Display in the photos is listed in another listing. Go check it out!)
