Description: Each of these 9 5/8" diameter plates is an individual work of art boldly and colorfully hand-painted with brushed and scratched details and signed by the artist DEMAVER. Focusing on the post war culture in Paris of the 50's, the scenes include 2 of Monte Martre and one of the Moulin Rouge. I especially enjoy the examples with black cats and artist's palettes that top 2 of the designs. Inscriptions on the back suggest these were original design protoypes and the pre-War Limoges stamp suggest the artist was working with re-purposed vintage blanks, not surprising so soon after WWII.
