The legs can be cut or bent to align with the seams in the lamp, soldered to the seams, and allow the shade to be mounted on a standard lamp harp through the center hole. The length of each leg is just over 3.5" from the center of the hole to the end of the leg. The center circle measures approximately 7/8" in diameter with a 3/8" hole. Spiders are used in place of vase caps, and allow the top of the lamp to remain open, which reduces heat build-up inside the shade. We also sell 4-sided brass spiders - just check our eBay store.
