Description: 5- Vintage,Rare Wood & Sons Vitrified Round Lug Handle Dishes in excellent used condition for their age. These were purchased at auction and have been in storage for many years. We believe these were used as Shirred Egg Dishes in a local restaurant which has been closed for quite some time. The Wood and Sons hallmark is stamped in green ink on each one as you can verify in the photos .Each dish is approx 6-3/4" long counting the handles and 5-1/2" in diameter otherwise. They are approx.7/8" deep and stand 1-1/2" tall at the handles. These all feature a white background with 1-large green band and 3- smaller red bands. They shine beautifully. The lug handles seem to be hand painted and vary slightly on each one. We have not found any others like these anywhere. We do have another 5 Piece set of these dishes in a separate listing also, so please check them out.You will receive the exact same pieces as shown in the photos of this listing. Through research ,we believe that the backstamp dates from 1910 . Regardless, These are definitely very old and very collectible.
