George landed on Omaha Beach as part of the 5 Engineef Special Brigade on D-Day in support of the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. George’s unit was pivotal in breaching the beach obstacles so that the 18th Infantry could get off the beach. Insignia is all original to this jacket and even has the very rare plastic DUI. Pin back ribbon bar has 4 campaign stars and invasion arrowhead on EAME ribbon. Jacket is size 38R, Dated June 1944 and in excellent condition.
