Description: Get ready to hatch 6, sometimes more if available, Bantam Silkie baby chicks. Possible colors: blue, black, splash, buff, partridge, and solid white. All of our chickens are healthy and are kept in very clean and safe conditions. Please understand we have a small backyard flock and therefore it can take a few days for an order to ship depending on how many of our hens are broody at the time. We do not have hundreds of birds in small enclosures where we can ship multiple orders in a day. All of our birds have names, and are handled daily by me and my children. All of the proceeds are applied to meet our small backyard flock's needs. Eggs are collected twice a day to ensure their freshness and to keep eggs as clean as possible. We always ship unwashed eggs that are no more than a couple of days old, and we always try to ship within 5 days of purchase. Important tips: Once you receive the eggs, make sure you don't set them straight into an incubator. They need 24 hours to allow the yolks to settle and to reach room temperature. Place the eggs into a cardboard egg carton with the pointed end down and set in a quiet spot in the same room as the incubator. If you are holding the eggs for longer than 24 hours before beginning incubation, prop one end of the carton up a few inches. Rotate which end is propped up approximately every 12 hours. This helps prevent the embryo from sticking to the shell membrane. If you have some eggs with detached air cells, don't panic! This is very common with shipped eggs. We recommendallowing the eggs to rest at room temperature in a carton with the pointy end down (big end with air cell up) for 24 hours. Then place into yourincubatorin the same position and begin incubation. Additionally, it may be beneficial to not turn the eggs for another 24 hours. This allows the air cell plenty of time to attempt to re-attach to the egg. When you candle your eggs at 7 days, you should be able to tell if the air cell was able to re-attach or not. Sometimes the cell will attach to one side of the egg instead of directly at the top, if the egg has a chick developing, you should continue incubation normally. When locking down these eggs for hatching, do one last candling and be sure the air cell is on top so the chick has the best chance of pipping correctly. Disclaimer: Due to USPS handling or delays, we can not be responsible for your hatch rate. There is NO REFUND or REPLACEMENT on hatching eggs. Shipped Hatching Eggs Are A RISK!!! You can do everything right, and they may not develop and hatch. We make sure the eggs are packed perfectly so they don't have the chance to break during shipping but once the package gets to USPS it is out of our control what happens after. If a shipped egg fails to develop, it does not mean that the egg was not fertile. We hatch and verify fertility on a weekly basis. With all this said, we wish you luck and happy hatching!!
