Description: The Patch: This Auction is for 1 WWII Vintage 6th Air Force patch with a white back. This patch is in good condition. There is some scrapbook paper on the back. It has a very nice white backing. This patch does not glow under the UV light and is guaranteed to be authentic. 6th Air Force patches are very desirable and are getting harder to find. Don't lose out on your opportunity to own this great piece of World War II history. The History: The 6th Air Force was activated on February 5, 1942 in the Panama Canal Zone when the Caribbean Air Force was redesignated. The primary mission of the 6th was to guard the canal zone against attack. The 6th also participated in anti submarine operations in the Caribbean. The 6th Air Force established a system of training and trained crews for other theaters of the war. They also provided scouting and reconnaissance for other bases in Central and South America. On August 2, 1946, the 6th Air Force was redesignated the Caribbean Air Command.Please read my auction requirements.
