The flex comes out between a 5.5 and 6.0.Soft stepping shafts makes them a slight bit more flexible. Several tour players soft step their irons to achieve the perfect flex. It is done by stepping the shafts up a club. Example: The 2 iron shaft will go into a 3 iron, the 3 iron shaft will go in the 4 iron, the 4 iron shaft will go in a 5 iron, The 5 iron shaft will go into a 6 iron, the 6 iron shaft will go in the7 iron, the 7 iron shaft will go in a 8 iron, the 8 iron shaft will go in the 9 iron, the 9 iron shaft will go in the Wedge, A simple way of explaining this is: soft stepped 6.0 3-PW shafts are actually 2-9 shafts but installed into 3-PW irons.
