Description: Original (1892) printing of this RARE book. It has been (and is currently being) reprinted frequently. This volume is fully intact with a tight binding. The binding shows some scuffing. Slight foxing on a few of the pages, but no internal markings found except for one owner’s signature (see pic). Truly in outstanding condition for its age. Rev. Armstrong served for the state of Texas in the Civil War and was made a chaplain. He became influential among Texas Methodists later and was part of the founding of the Polytechnic College in Ft. Worth, which later became Texas Wesleyan University. I can find no other original printings of this volume for sale in any online venue. Out of about 100 university, college and seminary libraries searched, only ONE lists this volume (UT Arlington, whose special collections also includes Armstrong’s unpublished typescript of his family history).
