A LIFE PLAY CAST - SHOW BILL SIGNED CO-SIGNED BY: PAT HINGLE, ROY DOTRICE - HFSID 301505 A LIFE PLAY CAST: PAT HINGLE and ROY DOTRICE Playbill signed on their cover pictures by Pat Hingle and Roy Dotrice. Dotrice received a Tony nomination for this 1980 play Show Bill signed: "Pat Hingle" and "Roy Dotrice" in blue felt tip, 98p, 5x9. Playbill for the Broadway production of A Life at New York's Morosco Theatre (1980-1981). This play by Hugh Leonard, set in a small town in present day Ireland, starred Pat Hingle as Kearns and Roy Dotrice as Drumm. PAT HINGLE (1924-2009), a Tony nominee for The Dark at the Top of the Stairs (1958), would appear on Broadway in twenty shows, with replacement starring roles in The Odd Couple (as Oscar Madison) and That Championship Season (as Coach). His resume included such classics as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, JB and The Glass Menagerie. ROY DOTRICE (1925-2017) is a British actor known for his stage work, especially in the Tony Award winning revival of A Moon for the Misbegotten. His first acting roles were minor appearances in British television programs, with his first major role being his first appearance on Broadway in Brief Lives, in which he put forward a solo performance that made him a star. Because the role was such a success for him, Dotrice was able to earn many subsequent starring roles on Broadway. Altogether, he notched 8 Broadway credits between 1967 and 2000, including the title role in Mr. Lincoln (1980). He was nominated for many awards, including the Drama Desk Award and Tony, winning both for his performance in A Moon for the Misbegotten. His commanding on-stage presence also landed him many notable television roles, including several recurring roles in Beauty and the Beast in 1987, Going to Extremes in 1992, and Medigan Men in 2000. He still continues to act, recently appearing in the critically-acclaimed Game of Thrones in 2012. Lightly toned at edges. Notches at right edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
