Description: This is " Across the River and Into the Trees " by Ernest Hemingway, in a first edition, first state published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1950. The first edition points are as follows: "A" and the Scribner's logo on the publisher's page, 1950 on the title page and the publisher's page, "Papadopoli" on page 21, line 26. The first state dust jacket shows black title lettering on a yellow spine lozenge, and a price of $3.00 on the front interior flap. Condition of this pre-owned hardcover book is Very Good Plus, showing moderate bumping to the corners. The unclipped dust jacket is pretty ragged, showing creases, tears, and chips (including 1" missing from the head of the spine panel). It has been heavily mended internally along the folds with tape. Please see accompanying photographs, which are of the actual item you will receive. Hard to find in this first state: price reflects condition.
