Here's the manufacturer's description: "The Alesis Studio 12R is a high-quality, rack-mountable 12-input, stereo output audio mixer. It is designed to handle eight microphones, two stereo line inputs, and to route signal to and from external effect processing devices. As a basic, easy-to-understand mixer, it can be used in a wide variety of applications from sound reinforcement to multitrack recording. It may also be used as an accessory or submixer to a larger console." The eight mike inputs can also handle either ¼" TS or TRS inputs, and there are insert jacks on each channel. Each mike channel has a trim control, a peak level LED, 2-band EQ, a pan control, a channel fader, and two auxiliary sends (one pre-fader, one post). Phantom power is available for the eight mike inputs, controlled by a rear-mounted switch. The two stereo inputs have a pair of ¼' jacks that can accept TS or TRS plugs. They also have a trim control, a peak level LED, 2-band EQ, a stereo channel fader, and two auxiliary sends, but they swap out the pan control for a left-right balance control. There are left and right LED level meters and a master fader control. The mixer has left and right main and monitor outputs on ¼" TRS jacks. The main output is also available on a pair of RCA jacks in the event that a recording of the output on consumer-level gear (-10dBV) is desired. You can also patch in an alternate signal source on a pair of RCA jacks for playback through the front-panel headphone jack or through the left/right monitor outputs. This unit is obviously well-used. I picked it up recently to put together a home audio restoration setup, but its faders and pan controls were VERY noisy. Rather than wait around, I purchased a different mixer to complete the build. I couldn't put the unit up for sale in the state it was in, so I had a local repair shop clean all the faders and controls.
